(300 – 3000 mm sensing range) or short-range (100 – 1000 mm sensing range) between the sensor and the target.

Turck Announces Open Faced Angle Sensors for Valve Position Monitoring in Harsh Environments


Turck announced two extensions of their inductive angle sensors for rotary actuators. Both new product offerings provide a rotary valve sensing solution ideally suited for harsh environments; one includes a stainless steel Minifast connector and the other, using a terminal chamber, provides ATEX and IECEx approvals.

The RI360-DSU utilizes the inductive resonant circuit measuring principle and introduces an innovative open face sensor design for rotary valve sensing. The RI360-DSU open faced inductive angle sensors deliver analog or discrete outputs and provide flexible mounting options previously not available from Turck.

Turck’s RI360-DSU inductive angle sensors are able to monitor quarter turn valves and three-way valves, while also detecting the valve position during cleaning cycles. Additionally, the sensors are capable of detecting the wear of seals, thus saving downtime from seals that are worn from switching cycles. For flexible operation, the sensors are available with switching or analog outputs.

The RI360P1-DSU35TC-ELI-EXI is available with ATEX and IECEx approvals. The RI360P1-DSU35-ELIU5X2-B1150/S1265 is available with a stainless steel Minifast connector.

Turck Expands Capacitive Sensor Line with Teachable Options

Expanding its line of capacitive sensors, Turck is now offering 18 mm and 30 mm capacitive barrel sensors with teachable capabilities. The new offering comes in two variants: teach by wire or teach by button.

The teach by button variant can be taught by a single press of a button, saving valuable installation and configuration time. Both present and absent media can be taught for a higher sensitivity teach. The variant without a push button can be taught either by a teach adapter or teach by wire (pin 5), which allows for a tamper-resistant installation. Each variant is available in PNP or NPN.

The 18 mm housed version offers a 5 mm sensing range when flush mounted and a 7.5 mm range when not flush mounted. The 30 mm housed version offers a 10 mm sensing when flush mounted, with a sensing range of 15 mm when not flush mounted. The expanded offering can be switched between NC and NO, and provides optical programming feedback through LEDs.

Extended Range 2-Wire Stainless Steel Faced Sensors From Turck

Turck has introduced the addition of a 2-wire, DC stainless steel faced sensor with an extended sensing range. With this extension, Turck furthers its most complete line of stainless steel faced sensors in North America.

Stainless steel faced sensors are an ideal fit to be used as substitutes for traditional plastic faced sensors in applications where the sensors are routinely damaged by impact. The one piece housing is made from high grade stainless steel which resists corrosion and is rated IP67 against moisture ingress. The rugged construction and design of the stainless steel sensor line allows it to fit the needs of a wide variety of applications. PTFE or WeldGuard coating is available upon request.

Compact RFID Read/Write Head For Restricted Mounting



Turck has now released the TB-Q08, currently the smallest ISO15693 compliant RFID read/write head on the market with protection to IP67. The housing is able to integrate the antenna, electronics, and two LEDs visible from all directions, despite its compact dimensions of 32 x 20 x 80 mm. The LEDs indicate a functioning power supply as well as active read/write operations to the user.

The TB-Q08 has a compact rectangular design and 15cm long connection cable with an M12 connector, making it particularly suitable for use in restricted mounting conditions, such as small assembly and transport lines.

The TB-Q08 can fully play to its strengths in the identification of metal objects, when combined with Turck's new R10 and R12 tags. The new 10 and 12 mm diameter tags can be mounted directly in metal and are equipped with a chip, which supports password functions. In conjunction with Turck's BL ident RFID system, the user can implement simple brand protection, access protection and access rights management.

TURCK's New uprox3 Series Features Longer Sensing Ranges in More Compact Design



TURCK announces the uprox3 series of sensors, which offers the largest switching distances of all Factor 1 sensors on the market thanks to an electronic platform that uses the latest chip set and manufacturing technologies. These technologies are a world first, enabling the creation of the uprox3 Factor 1 sensors in compact, 4mm smooth barrel and M5 designs with a 1mm switching distance, even for flush mounting. TURCK has also managed to shrink the previously most compact M8, M12 and M18 designs.

uprox3 sensors are the third generation of TURCK's uprox Factor 1 sensors. Although the existing uprox+sensors offered large switching distances for all metals, these distances are increased by as much as 50 percent in the new sensors. it previously was unattainable to senese 3mm in the M8 design, 6mm in M12 and 10mm in M18. However, thanks to the consistent development of its uprox technology, TURCK has been able to achieve these larger switching distances without any compromises in performance. The uprox3 sensors still offer outstanding application reliability for demanding sensing tasks, but also allow for the possibility to complete new installations.

Because of their inherent immunity to magnetic fields, the uprox3 series sensors are suitable for use in many demanding industrial sectors, such as welding for the automotive and metal forming markets. The new uprox3 series will be available with robust PTFE coated sensors in M8, M12 and M18 designs. Weldgaurd will also be available. Like their predecessors, all uprox3 sensors offer a high EMC stability and flexible mounting including full flush mounting, as well as precise switch points.

QR24 Sensor


TURCK Updates QR24 Sensors for Mobile Equipment


TURCK released a new QR24 rotary inductive sensor to expand programmability for industrial applications and improve rotary position feedback for mobile equipment market. The QR24 for the mobile equipment features a low operating voltage of 8-30 VDC with 0.5-4.5 V output. This technology is immune to vibrations and interference, ensuring accuracy and longevity to avoid replacement downtime and come in an IP68/IP69K rated housing to protect against moisture and dust in demanding environments.


All QR24 sensors use resistance inductive capacitance (RLC) measuring technology to process and communicate position. Each sensor is manufactured with printed emitter and receiver coil systems fully potted within the housing. When the emitter coils are activated with a high-frequency AC field, they produce an inductive RLC circuit with the positioning element. The position of that element is processed based on the induced signal to the receiver coils in the sensors.
For mobile equipment and industrial applications, this wear-free technology is ideal when applied directly to the shaft of a motor to provide superior accuracy for position feedback. In conjunction with RLC technology, TURCK's QR24 rotary inductive sensors provide high-resolution and 16-bit noisleless operation. The double resonator system offers increased distance capability and high-end signal processing with a multicore microprocessor for enhanced speed.

Turck Heats Up Their Temperature Transmitting Sensor

Turck ushers in a new era for their Temperature Transmitting (TTM) Sensors with the use of IO-Link technology.

Instead of being fixed to limited values, IO-Link technology now allows the user to program any desired temperature into the TTM sensor. Such an enhancement allows the sensor to adapt to quick change in an application, acting as a temperature switch.

The newest line of TTM sensors include remote mount transmitters, Integral Class resistance temperature detector (RTD) transmitters, stainless steel configurations and more. Each sensor includes a 4-20mA transmitter, and is prescaled 0-150 degrees Celsius. Turck TTM sensors also include the option of having an over-molded/welded housing. Over-molded models are most suitable for applications with limited clearance, as the electronics in side are protected. Integral Class TTM sensors can be mounted separately from their RTD, to improve temperature reading.

Banner Extends Its Sensor Family with the LE250


Meet the latest addition to Banner's L-Gage LE family of sensors: the LE250. With the same sturdy housing, intuitive user interface and linear array technology as the LE550, the LE250 inherits its reputation as an easy-to-use and reliable sensor.

TURCK's New Stainless Steel Sensors for Compact Applications

TURCK is proud to announce the addition of new 4mm and 5mm barrel sensors to its existing lineup. The new EG05K an EH04K are 15mm shorter than the standard EG05 and EH04, which allows the sensors to be used in applications previously not possible. These new, more compact sensors are a welcome addition to the stamping industry, medical device manufacturing and any application where small sensors are a requirement. 

The EG05K and EG04K are housed in a stainless steel barrel and come with a high flex TPU cable ensuring it can withstand harsh applications including those involving corrosive chemicals. Offering a 1mm sensing range and flush mounting, the EG05K and EH04K reduce the chance of damage while still offering the sensing range demanded. The EG05K and EH04K come equipped with a high visibility LED to provide users a visual indication of the sensor's status.

Contactless Power and Data Transmission with IO-Link

TURCK is launching the NIC contactless inductive coupler, a wear free alternative to classic connectivity solutions. The new NIC series can be used for data and energy transmission and is able to transfer up to 12 Watts and .5 amps of power across an air gap of 7 mm. With a tolerated angle offset up to 15 degrees and a parallel offset up to 5 millimeters, the couplers can also be fitted in restricted and non-standard mounting locations while still allowing for full power transfer. 

The current version of the NIC series transfers two PNP switch signals. If the primary unit is connected to an IO-Link master, signals can be transferred bi-directionally from IO-Link-capable sensors and signals from IO-Link-capable DI/DO junction modules can also be controlled. When using a primary unit with an integrated IO-Link master and a 12-pole plug connector, and with a TBIL-M1-16DIP I/O hub on the secondary side, up to eight switching signals can be transferred, which can be used in the primary side as separate outputs.

A diagnostic function detects the presence of the secondary unit as well as any metal object in the air gap which may weaken a transfer.

As a "contactless connector" the new product series is an ideal solution of the wear problems occurring with plug and wiper contacts subject to severe stress. In overhead conveyor systems or on rollers, the inductive couplers offer a maintenance-free alternative to the wear-intensive slip ring. The speed of the system is ideal for use in applications with high cycle rates such as tool changer robot s rotary indexing tables: The secondary unit is operational within 10 milliseconds and supports Dynamic Pairing; i.e. the coupling of any primary and secondary units. The application specific tag in the IO-Link protocol makes it possible to identify the relevant IO-Link device precisely, which makes it possible to replace the use of additional identification equipment such as RFID for a tool or skid change application.

Solution option #1:Two PNP switching signals
Up to two PNP switching signals can be transmitted via the secondary part NICS-M30-IOL2P8-0.3-RKC4.4T (right) either from power clamp sets or from two different sensors that are connected via a VB2-splitter.

Solution option #2: One IO-Link device
If the primary part NICP-M30-IOL2P8X-H1141 (left) is connected to an IO-Link master, data from measuring IO-Link sensors can be transmitted bi-directionally. You can, of course, also connect IO-Link-capable actuators such as tower lights or the TBIL-M1-16DIP I/O hub with 16 digital PNP inputs.

Solution option #3: Eight PNP switching signals
The primary part NICP-M30-8P8-0.3-RSC12T works as an IO-Link master, allowing up to eight switching signals to be processed via the I/O hub TBIL-M1-16DIP (right). The entire IO-Link communication is handled internally, requiring no configuration for the user.

An updated mechanical design, with an improved fiber clamp and a sleek look-and-feel, makes the DF-G1 a compelling upgrade to your existing fiber optic solutions. This dual display fiber amplifier expands the range of applications you can tackle with plastic and glass fiber optic assemblies.


With IO-Link, the machine builder can achieve point-to-point communication over the last meter of cable when the amplifier is connected to IO-Link to Bus Network adapter.
  • Sensor parameters can be changed, save to and uploaded from a PC using a USB to IO-Link converter and standard DTM (Device Type Manager) files and a FDT (Field Device Tool) container software such as PACTware. This enables storing and documentation of the sensor parameter lists for auditing or replacement of sensors.
  • The second output (white wire / Pin 2) continues to operate at full response speed when communication is occurring over the IO-Link output (black wire / Pin 4) allowing both a high speed response time output and sensor performance logging to occur in simultaneously.
