Smart Vision Lights Debuts DDL Dome Lights

Smart Vision Lights recently introduced its DDL Dome Light Series. These lights are designed to read code, eliminate reflections and shadows, while providing uniformity and repeatable illumination for challenging vision inspections. The DDL Dome Lights feature the new Multi-Drive integrated lighting controller. This technology allows the user to run the array in constant ON operation or pulse/strobe the light at a much higher intensity level without any other devices. The built-in Multi-Drive protects the LEDs from premature degradation and failure caused by excessive heat. The Multi-Drive regulates the current delivered to the LEDs and limits the duty cycle of the light. These lights are available in 100 mm, 150 mm, and 250 mm dome diameters.

The dome shape gives this product a particular advantage in uniformity when illuminating and reading OCR codes on reflective or round surfaces.

Smart Vision Lights Introduces A New Line of Bandpass, Colorpass, and Polarizer Filters

Smart Vision Lights has now introduced a new line of bandpass, colorpass, and polarizer filters designed to be matched with LED lights. Among the products in the new filter line are bandpass filters for blue, cyan, green, amber, red, and deep red LEDs; colorpass filters in the red and deep red; an infrared bandpass filters used to mazimize contrast under IR lighting; and a linear polarizer used to eliminate glare. The latter product comes with rotating locking screw to maximize versatility.

Smart Vision Lights is also offering a step down adapter from 27mm to 25.5mm and step up adapter from 27mm to 30.5mm.

Machine Vision: Diffuse Light Panels Growing in Popularity

Smart Vision Lights DLP Series illuminators are innovative and highly versatile lights. Think of a powerful backlight with a hole in the center. The result is homogeneous illumination similar to dome lighting.  These products emulate dome lighting by allowing light to come from multiple directions while giving the freedom to mount the light at a distance when domes must be mounted directly on top of the object.  


DLP lights can also be used to fill an area with soft diffuse light. This type of illumination reduces shadowing, reflection, and eliminates hot spots that point source spot lights can produce. The built-in LED driver makes connect-ability a snap featuring NPN/PNP strobe trigger input and remote analog intensity control through a 1-10V signal. DLP lights can run in continuous on or be pulsed. Available in multiple colors/wavelengths.
