TURCK Introduces Multiprotocol Ethernet In-Cabinet, Block I/O Stations

TURCK is expanding its line of In-Cabinet, Block I/O stations with the addition of the FEN20 I/O stations for Industrial Ethernet. This station incorporates TURCK's Industrial Ethernet multiprotocol technology into a fixed, economical, in-cabinet I/O product ideal for applications where digital I/O needs to be elevated to an Industrial Ethernet layer such as EtherNet/IP, PROFINET, or Modbus TCP.

The FEN20 I/O stations are available with 16 configurable I/O, with power isolation between I/O zones, and an embedded Ethernet switch to support a variety of application topologies. The station can be addressed via an external rotary switch or via a webserver which makes troubleshooting easier, quicker, and more cost-effective. The FEN20 supports DHCP, LLDP, and includes LEDs for status and basic troubleshooting.

TURCK's Industrial Ethernet multiprotocol technology is an innovative approach to Ethernet applications. A single station can operate on a Modbus TCP, EtherNet/IP or PROFINET network. Upon power-up, the station automatically recognizes the protocol of the master that tries to connect to it, and dedicates the outputs to that master while still allowing other protocols to access the input data and diagnostic information.

"The FEN20 in-cabinet I/O modules employs a unique housing that makes it perfect for uses in light towers, push button, or operator panels" said Christian Vitale, Sr. Product Manager at TURCK. "The FEN20 I/O station completes our family of in-cabinet, block I/O stations that can also be used in PROFIBUS-DP, DeviceNet, AS-interface and now multiprotocol Ethernet fieldbus applications."

TURCK Expands Inductive Sensor Line Designed for Harsh Applications

The Q80WD is an addition to the uprox+ family of factor one sensors that require no correction factor to detect any metal type.

The Q80WD features an improved design with a durable, stainless steel M12 connector and chemical resistant PPS thermoplastic housing that delivers resistance to chemicals and caustic cleaning agents, as well as shock and impact.  Additionally, the housing materials are food-safe and meet FDA Regulation 21CFR 177, 1500(9) for the U.S. and FDA/EGVO 1935/2004 for the E.U. The Q80WD features 2 side mounted LED's for optimal viewing.

"The introduction of  the Q80WD allows us to offer an even wider range of washdown sensor solutions for our customers", said John Murphy, Product Manager for TURCK. "With an extended range of 75mm, the uprox+ washdown family can provide a perfect solution in a variety of applications including food and beverage, mobile equipment, and many outdoor installations.

The existing uprox+ washdown family is comprised of 8, 12, 18, and 30mm diameter barrels, 42mm Qpaks with sensing ranges between 1.5 and 50mm. The uprox+ technology is able to sense all types of metals at the same distance, not only eliminating the need to change the position of the sensors for different metal applications, but also reducing the number of sensor types needed for plant operations. In addition to an extended sensing distance, the Q80WD delivers reliable operation in temperatures ranging from -25 degrees to +70 degrees Celsius and is IP68 approved or IP69k approved with optional back plate.

Benefits:

  • Offers a longer sensing range than previously possible
  • Delivers resistance to chemicals and caustic cleaning agents, as well as shock and impact
  • Food safe materials
  • 2 side mounted LED's for optimal viewing

TURCK HL Receptacle Extension Simplifies Connections in CI D1 Areas

TURCK introduces the HL (Hazardous Location) receptacle extension providing users with a connectivity solution for Class I Division 1 (CI D1) locations without the need to install conduits and poured seals. The HL receptacle extension also eliminates the need for intrinsic safety barriers by providing fully encapsulated housings joined by a welded aluminum armored cable available in lengths up to 20 meters.

The extension threads into the conduit entry of the device in a CI D1 hazardous location and extends the connector into a Class I Division 2 (CI D2) area where it can be easily mated with a minifast connector. Due to the use of MC-HL cable and the explosion blocking qualities of the housings, this product has been FM approved for use in CI D1 areas without the need for installing conduit and poured seals or intrinsic safety barriers.

The HL receptacle extension offers a solutions for oil and gas applications in hazardous areas that was previously not available. This is an ideal solution for those looking for an easier, safer and more cost effective way to connect devices without needing a barrier or poured seals.
