The CPU 151xSP F fail-safe controllers are extended standard ET 200SP CPUs certified for functional safety and are suitable for use in safety-related applications up to SIL 3. The fail-safe SIMATIC controller conveniently enables the processing of standard and safety programs on a single controller.

Siemens CPU 151xSP F fail-safe controllers can be used as PROFINET I/O controller or as distributed intelligence (PROFINET I-device). The CPUs 151xSP F can be expanded centrally with standard and fail-safe ET 200SP modules, and distributed via PROFINET/PROFIsafe with any ET 200 systems.The expandable PROFINET I/O IRT interface is designed as a 2-port switch so that a line structure can be configured in the plant. For IT security, additional password protection is setup for F-configuration and F-programs.

Going the Distance With Banner's Q4X Sensor

The Q4X builds upon the brawn of Banner Engineering's existing sensor standouts, such as the QS18 and QS30, by adding a versatile distance based detector to the product line.

Banner's newest offering has a sensing range of 25-300mm and can detect height changes as small as 1mm, truly displaying power in accuracy. Built within the rugged, FDA grade stainless steel housing of the Q4X, is an illuminated display that provides high visibility during operation. Below the Q4X's display are three tactile buttons with ergonomic responsiveness, which can be used to setup and adjust limits for your application.

Turck Heats Up Their Temperature Transmitting Sensor

Turck ushers in a new era for their Temperature Transmitting (TTM) Sensors with the use of IO-Link technology.

Instead of being fixed to limited values, IO-Link technology now allows the user to program any desired temperature into the TTM sensor. Such an enhancement allows the sensor to adapt to quick change in an application, acting as a temperature switch.

The newest line of TTM sensors include remote mount transmitters, Integral Class resistance temperature detector (RTD) transmitters, stainless steel configurations and more. Each sensor includes a 4-20mA transmitter, and is prescaled 0-150 degrees Celsius. Turck TTM sensors also include the option of having an over-molded/welded housing. Over-molded models are most suitable for applications with limited clearance, as the electronics in side are protected. Integral Class TTM sensors can be mounted separately from their RTD, to improve temperature reading.
